Rhubarb - Indian Harbour: Reviews & Ratings
Great Friday night with live music with the exceptional Kim Dunn. Had fresh pizza, and a tiny, but delicious cheesecake
Have always enjoyed the drive to this place but think I enjoyed the food more! Great menu with an excellent kitchen staff. They know their stuff! Service was great. Wonderful coffee and sonar pizza on of best in province! Make it a part of your day trip!
I've been coming to Halifax every weekend for about 2 months and I've heard such amazing things about this restaurant. From locals and from people in my hometown. Every time I say I'm going to go I run out of time and never make it. Fortunately, this time I was able to make it for a pickup order and I'm so glad I got to experience this. The staff was super friendly, the atmosphere was beautiful and the food was absolutely fantastic! I ended up having the lobster roll with the fries, and a cup of the seafood chowder. The only thing that upsets me is that I only came here once during my time in Halifax. I strongly recommend checking out this restaurant and then taking a drive to see Peggy's cove. I can't thank the staff enough for being so accommodating. Next time I'm in Halifax I will definitely be coming by again.
Just north of Peggy's Cove on the waterfront is this food establishment that everyone raves about named Rhubarb. You have to make a reservation because this place is always packed. Their space is a cute homey interior with lots of bright natural night and classic adornments. It's got great character. The food is spectacular. It's fresh and well presented. You have try a seafood dish of some sort when you're here. They also do a wonderful brunch. The service was just ok. Very service like. Not overly friendly with our server or the front till which was disappointing. Otherwise you have to give this place 5 stars. 5 x
I recently visited Nova Scotia, and what a beautiful, lush and friendly province. I stayed in Indian Harbour and one evening, I had the pleasure of dining at Rhubarb Restaurant. Less than 15 minutes from Peggy's Cove on the Lighthouse Route, nestled right off the road, is this fabulous little family owned restaurant. I walked in and notice a healthy dining room and was greeted by the owner right away. I asked if I could sit on the balcony and she led me outside where I sat with a view of the ocean. Their craft beer selection was very nice, yet not too overwhelming. The waitress brought out a small dish of biscuits that were fresh out of the oven and served with butter. I had the Hells Bay Brewery, cream ale (from Liverpool N.S.) to drink and the Donaitor pizza. It was spectacular! Home made dough, sauce and donair meat made the 10" pizza well worth every bite! The staff was friendly, the experience was pleasurable and I would dine at Rhubarb again! I just wish they had a few appetizers to choose from to start with, but all in all, it's fantastic! Enjoy!!
Had the seafood chowder. It was excellent. Lots of great seafood in it. Ambience of the restaurant and wait staff were all top notch. Will definitely return in the future.
What is with Nova Scotia and its restaurants with epic views while you eat and drink ? Rhubarb is nestled just outside the village of Peggy’s Cove which is perfect during tourist season because you can escape the hustle and bustle. It’s a modern restaurant menu with a rustic seaside atmosphere situated on a resort property overlooking the ocean. Staff are very delightful as soon as you enter, all smiles and east coast welcoming. You can hear the kitchen and smell the amazing local creations as soon as you enter. The menu isn’t overwhelming with choices but is overwhelming with delicious decisions to make. My go to was the haddock and chips or as some may know it as the Fish and Chips. Hands down in my experienced opinion the absolute best fish and chips in all of Nova Scotia. I’ve even fallen into the trap of ordering it for take home on the regular. They have live music towards weeks end, it’s warm when it’s cool outside and it’s breezy when it’s warm outside. The owners and staff do an amazing job of making anyone and everyone feel welcome. It’s a must experience in Nova Scotia
The food was delicious! We ordered the mussels with the fried bread in white wine. The sauce was delicious and the bread was amazing! I could’ve eaten a bucket of just that bread. We also got the crispy haddock, it came in a bed of chickpeas. The chickpeas were just okay but the fish was perfectly crispy and delicious. We also got the pizza of the day, a Greek pizza it was good! Nothing extravagant. Dreaming of coming back for those mussels and bread! The location is dreamy, we sat outside and enjoyed the warm breeze and beautiful view.
